What the software stores
Eatin POS holds the records you enter in order to do its job: your menu and recipes, your orders and bills, your customers and suppliers with their contact details and balances, your purchases, expenses and bank accounts, and the user accounts of your staff.
That data belongs to your business. It is not sold, rented or shared with advertisers, and it is not used to build a profile of you or your customers.
Your customers' details
When you add a customer, you are recording another person's information — usually a name, a phone number, sometimes an address or CNIC. That makes you responsible for it. Two practical consequences:
- Collect only what you actually need to run the khata. A name and a phone number is enough for most restaurants.
- Give each staff member their own login with an appropriate role, so customer details aren't visible to everyone who works a shift.
Staff accounts
Each user has a name, username, email and optional phone number. Every document records which user created it — that audit trail is a deliberate feature, and staff should know it exists.
Where the data lives
Eatin POS runs against a server. Where that server is, and who administers it, depends on your installation — if you run it yourself, the data never leaves your own infrastructure. Backups, retention and access control on that server are the responsibility of whoever operates it.
Settings stored in your browser
A few preferences are stored on the computer you use rather than on the server: your chosen print format, which printers to use, booking alert lead time, and whether dark mode is on. They stay on that machine, and clearing your browser data removes them.
This website
This site is a set of static pages describing the software. It does not require an account, does not run advertising, and does not track you across other sites. If you email us, we keep the email in order to reply to it.
Deleting data
Inside the app, documents are cancelled rather than deleted, so that financial totals continue to reconcile and the audit trail stays intact. Accounts and tables with history are deactivated or retired rather than removed. If you need records permanently erased — for example under a data protection request — that is handled by whoever operates your server.
