Banks
Every account money moves through, with a live balance on each.
What this screen is for
Whenever a sale, purchase, receipt, payment or expense is marked Bank, it has to land somewhere. This is that list.
How to get here
Sidebar → Cash & Bank → Banks.
The screen, part by part
Total Bank Balance sits at the top — every account added together. This is the same figure as Bank Balance on the Dashboard.
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Account Title | The name on the account, with the bank |
| Account No. | The number |
| Address | Branch |
| Balance | Live, updated by every bank transaction |
| Status | Active or Inactive |
Adding an account
Add Bank Account:
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Bank | Pick from the list of banks |
| Account Title | The name on the account |
| Account Number | Optional but recommended |
| City | Optional |
| Address / Branch | Optional |
| Active | Off removes it from dropdowns without deleting |
Step by step
Setting up
- Add Bank Account for each real account, including any mobile-money account you take payments into.
- Give each a title staff will recognise at the till — they pick from this name under pressure.
Reconciling against a statement
- Open History and filter to bank transactions for the month.
- Tick them off against your bank statement.
- Anything on the statement but not in the app is a missing entry — usually a bank charge, which belongs on Expenses.
Good to know
- Balances are calculated, never typed. They are the sum of everything routed through the account. If a balance looks wrong, a transaction is wrong, not the balance.
- A negative balance shows in red on the Dashboard — usually it means expenses were booked against an account before the income was recorded.
- Bank balances are company-wide: one set of accounts shared across the whole business.
