Bookings
Orders held back from the kitchen — a table booked for 8pm, a big order for tomorrow, or a cart parked while the guest decides.
What this screen is for
A booking and a held order are the same record. The only difference is whether a time was asked for:
- Held order — parked with no time on it. Someone will come back to it.
- Booking — parked with a Wanted at time. The app counts it down.
Neither has been shown to the kitchen. That is the point: nothing gets cooked until someone sends it.
How to get here
Sidebar → Sales → Bookings, or the Bookings button in the till's top bar.
The screen, part by part
Filters
A row of tabs: All · Booked for later · Overdue · Cancelled.
- Booked for later — has a time, still in the future.
- Overdue — the time has passed and it has not been sent to the kitchen. This is the list to watch.
- Cancelled — called off, kept for the record.

"Order no, guest, phone, table…"
Each booking shows
The order number, the guest and phone, the table if one was chosen, what was ordered, the total, and the time it is wanted at.
Actions
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Edit | Loads the whole order back into the till so you can change it and send it |
| Cancel | Calls it off but keeps the record |
| Discard | Throws the held order away entirely |
The due-time alert
Eatin POS watches bookings from wherever you are in the app — you do not have to be on this screen. When a booking is close to its time, the till is alerted so the kitchen can start.
How far ahead the warning comes is set in Setup as a number of minutes' lead time.
Step by step
Taking a booking
- In New Sale, choose the customer and build the order.
- Put the date and time in WANTED AT.
- Press Book order.
Sending a booking to the kitchen
- Open Bookings and find it (or respond to the alert).
- Press Edit — the order loads into the till.
- Adjust anything that changed.
- Press Create Order. The ticket prints and it moves to the Orders board.
- Go back to Bookings and Cancel the original entry.
Parking a cart mid-service
- Build the cart.
- Leave WANTED AT empty.
- Press Hold order. It waits here with no clock on it.
Good to know
- A booking holds no stock. Ingredients only move when the order is actually created.
- Overdue bookings never disappear on their own — someone has to send or cancel them.
- Bookings are visible to everyone signed in, so an evening booking taken at lunchtime is waiting for the night shift.
