History
Every document the business has ever raised — sales, purchases, returns, receipts, payments — in one searchable list.
What this screen is for
History is the single place to answer "what happened on the 14th?" or "find that bill for Ahmed". Everything else in the app writes here.
How to get here
Sidebar → History. The old per-type links (Sales, Purchases, Returns, Purchase Returns) all land here with the right filter applied.
The screen, part by part
Type filter
All Types, or one of: sale, purchase, sale return, purchase return, receipt, payment.
Search and dates
Search matches the document number and the party. A date range narrows it.
The table
| Column | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Doc No | The document's serial number |
| Type | Which kind of document |
| Party | The customer or supplier |
| Date | When it was raised |
| Created By | Which user entered it |
| Amount | The total |
| Balance | What is still outstanding on it |
Opening a document
Click a row and the full document opens:
- For a sale or purchase: every line with Item, Qty, Unit Price, Discount and Total, then Subtotal, Discount, Total, Paid and Balance.
- For a receipt or payment: the date, method, status and amount.
- A cancelled document is tagged Cancelled; an active one shows Active.
Step by step
Finding one bill
- Type the guest's name or the bill number in search.
- Narrow by Type if the list is long.
- Click the row to see the lines.
Checking a day's takings
- Set the date range to that one day.
- Filter to sale.
- Read down the Amount column, and the Balance column for anything unpaid.
Seeing who entered what
The Created By column settles most till disputes without an argument.
Good to know
- Nothing is ever deleted. Documents are cancelled and stay visible with a tag, so totals always reconcile.
- History is the fastest way to reprint something — open the document and print from there.
- For money-focused views by party, use Account Statement instead; History is document-focused.
